The Viridi-anne 2023-24 Autumn Winter Collection.
1: Design
The design is based on down jacket from the 17-18 AW collection with updated silhouettes and details.
All zippers are waterproof, highlighted by leather draw cords on the front and chest pockets.
The length is set in compact form and created with TVA's signature urban and active style.
The front has two zippers, one of which can be closed at the front to accentuate the design, while the other can be closed at the back for minimalist look.
The silhouette can be adjusted depending on which way it is closed.
The down jacket is designed with mobility, with a slightly narrower silhouette to make it look slimmer, while the side panels are made by themselves from the hem to the cuffs, making it easier to raise your arms.
The collar is designed to keep its shape even when worn with the front all open, so that it is safe to change the way you wear it depending on your preference.
2: Material
The outer fabric is Solotex eco-hybrid with high stretch and water repellency using plant-based and recycled materials.
Although it is 100% polyester, it is environmentally friendly and sustainable, using PTT polymer made partly from plant-based materials and materials recycled through chemical recycling using 50% used polyester (PET polymer).
Very soft to the touch and smooth to the touch, with less of the gloss characteristic of chemical fibers.
The color is also good, expressing deeper black color than common nylon or polyester fabrics.
The stretchy four-way stretch makes it easy to move around, and the water-repellent feature makes it easy to adapt to changing weather conditions.
Anti-static material is also used for the lining, providing stress-free comfort both during movement and when putting on and taking off the garment.
The down jacket used is white goose down, which has large individual down balls and is extremely heat-retentive even in small amounts.
This makes the lightweight down jacket while ensuring good heat retention, and it also plays a role in achieving a sleek, clean look.
About The Viridi-anne
Designer: Tomoaki Okaniwa
Born in 1963 in Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
After graduating from the Painting Department of Tokyo Zokei University, he self-taught pattern making and sewing, embarking on the path of fashion design.
In 2001, he launched "The Viridi-anne" and has been presenting his works through exhibitions and installations in Paris since 2006.
Since its establishment, the brand has embraced black as its main color, with the concept of evoking a sense of nostalgia while possessing an atmosphere, that does not belong to any particular era or category.
It aims to capture a quiet yet strong essence reminiscent of Wabi-sabi (Japanese art centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection) and pleasant tension.
For the past few seasons, the brand has intentionally refrained from setting a specific theme and has created collections without being bound by anything and focusing on detailed designs and balancing silhouettes, they continuously produce items that seem simple, but "unconventional items, evoking a sense of disharmony".
